The Silk Loft is our biggest room at Bridge 5 Mill. As you will find throughout the mill as a whole, this room is full of hidden gems; the floorboards have been recycled from an old school gymnasium; its iconic Mancunian red brick walls provide the perfect backdrop to whatever event is being held in the space; the high ceilings and oak wood beams make it the perfect callback to Britain’s rich industrial heritage.

The Canal Side Room is perfect for your workshop and training session needs and flowing ideas, as well as medium-sized conferences, meetings, or maybe even a spot of yoga. Looking out over the famous Ashton Canal, which was historically used to transport the likes of coal and limestone into Manchester, it now plays host to a colourful variety of canal boats as they leisurely sail along.

Flaxworks
The Flaxworks is our open foyer. Its casual atmosphere is the perfect choice for public community events such as discussion and networking groups, gigs and exhibitions. Many choose to hire this space for lunch and breakouts as part of a larger event booking. The room’s name refers to a brilliant initiative from the early 2000s that made effective use of discarded land in the local area to grow and harvest flax.

The Spinning Room is the smallest meeting room at the mill. It is an ideal space for hot desking, interviews, one-to-one meetings, and small boardroom style conferences. The Spinning Room’s name pays homage to Ancoats’ role in the well-known Manchester cotton trade, and the space itself features reclaimed parquet flooring, a passive ventilation feature, a beautiful old oak table and privacy blinds.

Services
We offer self service refreshment stations with carefully selected fairtrade and/or organic premium products including a variety of teas, coffees, biscuits and soft drinks. Our “à la carte” style order form enables your refreshment station to be taylored to your needs and budget.
We don’t have in-house catering, but we work exclusively with Open Kitchen MCR. We handle all catering administration and coordination for your event and they deliver making it a seamless process. Please note we are a veggie building.
We also offer a staffed bar service for certain events including bottled and canned beers, ciders, soft drinks and organic wine. Get in touch for more details.
