From Piccadilly Train Station, via the canal (approx. 20min): From the upper main entrance, turn Right on Ducie St and turn right towards the Ducie Basin. Keep left to join the Ashton Canal towpath (M1 2JN). Exit up the stairs at Bridge number 5 and turn right on Beswick St. Please note there are steps on this route.
From Piccadilly Train Station via the street (approx. 20min): From the upper station exit, turn left on London Road then left on Store St underneath the station. Continue across onto Old Mill St, then turn right on Beswick St.
There is a gated bike storage on site.
Take the Metrolink blue line towards Ashton-Under-Lyne and stop at Holt Town (2 stops away from Piccadilly Train Station). Then it’s a 3 minutes walk up Beswick St. Download the Bee Network app to plan your journey.
Take the 74, 76 or 76A Piccadilly Gardens to Oldham Mumps bus route, and stop at Holt Town, Bradford Road / near Butler Street. Then it’s a 2 minutes walk down Beswick St.
Or, take the 230 or 231 Piccadilly Gardens to Ashton-under-Lyne bus route, and stop at Holt Town, Ashton New Road / Holt Town Metrolink Stop (Stop A). Then it’s a 3 minutes walk up Beswick St. Download the Bee Network app to plan your journey.
We would like to encourage all visitors to walk, cycle or take public transport. If you require to drive, please note that whilst we do not have dedicated parking and are in a restricted area, you can collect a free one day visitor parking permit at reception and park in suitable and available parking bay. Alternatively, the nearest pay & display is at New Islington Tram Stop.
Accessibility
- Bridge 5 Mill’s entrance can be found off Beswick street through a gated canal bound garden. There is a ramp down from the street to the main entrance.
- The main entrance has no automated push button however there is a telephone number and intercom to help with opening the door if required. The main entrance is a double door and can be open wider if necessary. The door is often left open during events and supervised by a reception staff member.
- The lift is just on the left past the main entrance. It gives access to all floors.
- The 1/2 floor below the main entrance is the ground floor, the lift will open straight into the Flaxworks (foyer). This is also where the reception desk is where visitors are asked to sign in and out, as well as the Canal Side Room and accessible WC.
- The 4th floor is the Silk Loft and the lift doors will open straight into the room.
- There are 3 accessible toilets on the ground floor (in the Flaxworks), the 1st and 3rd floors.
- Assistance dogs and other support pets are welcome.
